William Swindler, 48, who operated a wholesale and retail vegetable business died suddenly Monday at 8:45 p.m. at his home, Rt 7, Crawfordsville. In failing health for a year, he died following a heart attack. Born in Crawfordsville on March 24, 1907, he was the son of Harley & Mary Jane Smith Swindler. On Oct 14, 1927, he married Geneva Clodfelter who survives. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church and Eagles Lodge. Surviving besides the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Ann Seals of Crawfordsville; a son James Herbert Swindle who is stationed with the US Army in Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Herbert Cunningham of Crawfordsville and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a daughter. Funeral services will be held at Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with burial at Masonic Cemetery.
